/Set Mixer./ The mixer that came with your sound card or the one that came with Windows
needs to be checked as you may have changed its settings. When you start the program, a
little notice comes on the screen to remind you to do this. Basically you want to set the output
level, input gain and stereo balance. The details on how to do this will obviously vary from
system to system. Here is how its done with the SB Live.

In the mixer PLAY section, enable Wave and Spkr, set the sliders to max and mute all
others (including Line to avoid audio feedback). In the RECORD section, enable Line, set it to
max and mute all others. Set the stereo balance to center for all controls. These settings are
important. For example, if you forget to mute Line in the PLAY section there will be errors.

/Start Button./ This causes the program to initialize the sound card for capturing data.
The "Trig Rdy" Green LED next tothe Start button will turn Red when the trigger is ready
 for STEP input.

/Stop Button./ This stops the process that began with the start button. Normally the externa
l trigger will stop and complete the process via the external hardware circuit and you will not
need to click this button. However, if the external circuit is not working correctly or is not
connected, you can use this button to halt the capture process. The "Trig Rdy" process
must be halted (Green LED on) before exiting the program.

L Ch (X) and (R-L) Ch(Y) controls the gain of theset channels for display only. The actual
captured data is not affectedby these settings.

Time Base. This control selects the time scale used for display of data.

Display. These buttons determine how the captured data is displayed. The" Disp" button
turns the display on or off.

Cursor. Clicking this button enables the cursors. There are two cursors for the normal
data vs time displays The left button of the mouse selects the measurment cursor. The
right mouse button selects the other cursor. Time or frequency is measured between the
two cursors. In the XYdisplay mode the cursor is a changed to a cross. The cross hair
 value is displayed.

See the Readme file that came with the software for more information.
